The two bands announced the joint tour, which features opener The Wombats, on Thursday, Nov. 2. The trek unites two of the biggest and most influential rock bands of the past 30 years for the first time on a full tour. Alternative rock kings The Pixies are touring in support of their 2016 release Head Carrier, and Weezer dropped its 11th studio album, Pacific Daydream, last week.
“We’re all big Weezer fans,” Pixies frontman Black Francis (Frank Black) said in a statement, “so we’re really looking forward to this summer. We have a lot of respect for Weezer; they’re not afraid to take risks with their music.”
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and music starts at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, starting at $34.50 plus any applicable fees. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Walton Arts Center box office in Fayetteville, by calling 479-443-5600 or by visiting www.amptickets.com.
